Lincoln Lawyer and Love and Other Drugs.

Okay troops,
Tonight was a very exciting night as I caught Matthew McConaughey's new film Lincoln Lawyer and I have to say I was pleasantly pleased. The Lincoln Lawyer, based on the hit selling novel of the same name, is a comforting reminder that Matthew McConaughey can act with his shirt on. Reaching back to his role in A Time to Kill McConaughey rocks as the defense lawyer from the gods who runs his office out of a late model Lincoln. Ryan Phillippe also weights in as the client from hell as a plot of twists and turns unfolds before the audience's eyes. The film's truest stand out performance is the film's director Brad Furman. The Lincoln Lawyer is Brad's second big picture film and is sure to shine the light on this former assistant to Julia Roberts. An all star cast, a power house film, a stand out director, the Lincoln Lawyer is sure to be a fist full of fun for anyone who sees it.

Love and Other Drugs
The wife drug me to this film but honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Jake Gyllenhaal has been a favorite of mine since his days of Donnie Darko. I find his presence on film always a stunning surprise, Love and Other Drugs was no different. The film is about a Viagra salesman who finds his soul mate in the form of a young woman, Anne Hathaway, who is suffering from Parkinson's disease. Both characters have no desire to be in a relationship but through the process of the movie they manage to find love. Usually films like this are filled with comedy at the wrong time and sappy moments in awkward places, but Love and Other Drugs does not follow suit. The film is well paced and is heart warming as well as gut rolling and I would be a bad friend if I didn't tell you to go and rent this move right now.
