Predators:
You know I can honestly say that I've never stated OMG and actually meant Oh My God; however after sitting through Predators I can honestly say that I from start to end Predators was not a disappointment. I can seriously see this single piece of awesome film footage starting a completely new franchise that will step completely away from the disappointing AvP movies that did some real damage towards the famous film.
Some of the initial doubts I had about the film is that Robert Rodriguez did not direct the film, he produced it, and anyone who has seen the epic trash that Hostel is knows that just because someone famous produces the film doesn't mean it will be a good film. Another point I had was that in my eyes Adrien Brody is not an action film start. He's not built for it, his past films have not been action films, and seeing the previews I found myself doubting the action ability of the man who played the Pianist. Let me tell you I was wrong on all counts. Predators, hands down, is the best movie of the franchise and has a great opportunity to kick off another set of films that stand to get only better and better.
Despicable Me:
Now as a father I know that I will have to drag my kid to the movies once in a while if I ever want to go to the movies by myself. So when this new animated film hit the market I knew I would be going with the family to see it. I was not disappointed. Steve Carell is a true all around talent who's comedy is easily transferred from physical form to animated form. The humor in the film appealed to both kids and adults alike and the moral of the story is something that easily makes the film worth seeing. I laughed from start to end and as for those who know me know that I am not a comedy guy, Despicable Me made me a believer.
