Okay, so first off I would like to say this is the only time I will ever write a review about a movie like this. Most of main stream pop culture, most everything on MTV, makes me want to puke, but for right now.
Most of the people I talked to said that Easy A was a parody or modern remake of Hawthorn's The Scarlet Letter and I have to say honestly anyone who thinks that has never read that book in its entirety. Yeah the girl has a red letter A on her chest, just like the main character of the book, but that's about as far as it goes.
More to the point Easy A is a stand out film that pays homage to director John Hughes and his generation defining films such as the Breakfast Club and Farris Bueller's Day Off. This film is funny, hip, and in the end teaches us all a redundant lesson , pretty much the same lesson we learned when we first watched Breakfast club, but that's besides the point. Emma Stone is a knockout as a young girl who tires of being invisible and let's a little white lie carry her to popularity. She hits a few road blocks when that little white lie gets her into trouble, but I'll let you watch it to enjoy it through and through. So this is it folks, my one time teen flick pick, Easy A and easy three stars.
