The Last Exorcism...

The Last Exorcism, produced by Eli Roth, is a film about a wayward pastor who dedicates to himself to exposing Exorcism as a fraud. Filmed on location in Louisiana, the film steps in the shoes left behind by the Blair Witch project as it is filmed as a "mockumentary" and through out the film the characters and crew all revolve around a generated reality. The Pastor and his film crew land in a out of the way small town and small farm and they are plagued by sights and shocks that will test their faith in the devil and his true power of possession.
All in all this film is pretty simple in it's concept and it's plot but it's the flow of the film and the lead character's grip on utter reality that really moves this film forward. The audience, just as the pastor, are made to go on a "test of faith" that reveals both his own fraud and the true torment of a young girl locked in an unexplained terror. By the end of the film the lead character is not only questioning his faith but his grip on reality.
The film is certainly worth watching and has an entertaining plot twist that is both horrific and entertaining at the same time. The Last Exorcism is a solid three stars and hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I did.
